STEP 1: Acquire Images

The HabCam camera sled shown here is towed along the ocean bottom by fishing vessel Kathy Marie of New Bedford, MA.

Pictures are taken at an average speed of four images per second.

 

Habcam currently surveys important areas to commercial fishing and fisheries management located in the Gulf of Maine, Great South Channel, Georges Bank and Mid Atlantic Bight.
